Czech Dreams 2024
Czech Dreams in Swedish Norrköping
What do Brno and Norrköping have in common? There's more than you might think! Thanks to the developed textile industry, both cities have had the same flattering nickname in the past: Brno used to be the Manchester of Moravia, Norrköping was the Manchester of Sweden. Today, both cities are members of the prestigious UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music. With a concert by Brno musicians Ondřej Zámečník and Michal Cálik, Czech Dreams will join the 38th Norrköping Cultural Night, which starts today.
This traditional autumn event, which is very popular with the population, should be called "Norrköping Cultural Nights", as this year it will take place over three days and three nights. The programme offers 300-400 events, with concerts, dance shows, theatre performances, film screenings, craft presentations, exhibitions or guided tours.
The Czech Dreams Concert will take place in the glass foyer of the Louis De Geer Palace, where on Saturday 28 September at 4 pm, accordionist and composer Ondřej Zámečník and trumpeter Michal Cálik will perform. Their programme combines contemporary music with modern jazz. Together they create a project that emphasizes improvisation, original creation and fusion of different styles and promises an original musical experience full of genre diversity and innovation.
