The concert, entitled of the "Czech-Austrian partnership", is the grand finale of the 5th year of the pan-European project Czech Dreams. The evening, organised in cooperation with the Schloss Thalheim Classic concert series, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Austria and the Czech Centre in Vienna, will be one of the international highlights of the current Year of Czech Music. Czech Dreams 2024 was launched in January in Denmark at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art with music by this year's jubilarian Bedřich Smetana. It is his first quartet that will be performed together with Dvořák's Piano Quintet at the gala closing of the project by the same excellent artists - the Pavel Haas Quartet and pianist Boris Giltburg. The evening will be accompanied by David Mareček, General Director of the ČF.
Guests will include H.E. Jiří Šitler, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Austria, Ferdinand Trauttmansdorff, former Ambassador of Austria to the Czech Republic, creative director of the Year of Czech Music and dramaturge of Czech Dreams Aleš Březina. The concert is a celebration of the Czech-Austrian partnership and will be attended by representatives of all three border partner regions, organisers of a number of cross-border projects, mayors of Czech cities and their counterparts from Austrian partner cities and many personalities for whom the connection of our countries is an important and meaningful part of their plans and goals. That is why the concert will also be the Gala Concert of the cross-border IMF Concentus Moraviae.
